Jayma's tips - best summer outings in Seattle

Seattlites get euphoric about blue skies, warm temps and spending time outdoors. After months of rain, we feel we've earned every nice day that comes our way, and summer is just around the corner!!!

Since here at the shop we are never shy about offering recommendations -- what to do, where to go, what to eat (and what to wear while you're at it!), we thought this would be an excellent blog topic...

First up, Jayma:

#1 favorite thing to do on a glorious summer day?

Mariner's Game in the afternoon! One way to insure that the roof will be open - buy last minute tickets on a decidedly sunny day. If you can, sit on the 3rd base side to avoid sun in your eyes. Be sure to order garlic fries to go with your ice-cold beer, then cheer your heart out and pray...

#2 favorite thing to do on a glorious summer day?

Meet friends for happy hour on the deck at Marination Ma Kai in West Seattle (http://www.yelp.com/biz/marination-ma-kai). Order a lychee margarita and kim-chi fried rice, then sit back and enjoy the most beautiful view of downtown Seattle and Elliot Bay. (The people watching's not so bad either!)

#3 favorite thing to do on a glorious summer day?

Carpool with friends to Fremont (yes parking is a bummer!) for the Solstice Parade.  It's coming right up - June 17, 18 & 19. Don't tell first-timers that there will be naked bicycle riders; it's just fun to see their faces... Highlights include the dog parade, awesome street food and music. Have a beer at Red Door.
