March for a Cause!
That's Clementines' motto this month as we get inspired about spring,
renewal and giving back! As we searched for a way to incorporate
philanthropy into our business model, we considered many worthy causes.
It was serendipitous that we landed upon the idea of contributing to a
program that is so closely aligned with who we are - the School of
Apparel Design and Development at Seattle College, Central campus.

In SPOTLIGHT, the Seattle Colleges' publication that showcases programs
and students, this statement resonated with us: "Our individual success
is magnified when we invest in others. By weaving our knowledge,
expertise, and wisdom into the fabric of the community, we promote
goodwill and our common humanity." We can stand with that!
The School of Apparel Design and Development has been preparing students
to launch careers in the fashion industry for 70 years. Among the
program's alumni is fashion guru, Kenneth Downing! And we were amazed to
find out that 6 alumni are employees at Prairie Underground -- a local
company whose apparel we've carried for over 10 years. That the program
serves a diverse group of students is, for us, the most compelling of
the reasons to contribute.
During the month of March, Clementines will contribute a percentage of
every sale to Seattle Colleges that is directed to go to the School of
Apparel Design and Development. We invite you to join with us in
supporting this sterling program that teaches vital skills and helps
people of many backgrounds and ages to prepare for meaningful work!
