Say hello to Kowtow!
We are excited to announce Kowtow, the newest addition to Clementines' collection of ethically sourced, sustainable apparel lines. It is our goal to offer customers fashion choices they can feel good about, and Kowtow delivers on every count!
All the fabrics and trims that Kowtow uses are sourced with protecting ecosystems in mind. The swimwear is a great example - made from ECONYL® which is regenerated nylon. Since 2013, ECONYL® has worked with Healthy Seas to remove 160 tons of fishing nets from the world’s oceans and turned them into yarn. At the end of a garment's use, all fabrics are either compostable, or maybe recycled infinitely without loss of quality.
Started in 2007 by designer Gosia Piatek, Kowtow is known for its architectural shapes, rich color and unfussy femininity - which definitely vibes well with our West Coast sense of style. The spring line-up at Clem includes jumpsuits, dresses, tops and oversized tees - each one distinctly Kowtow.
As buyers we consider how many correct notes a garment hits in terms of quality, versatility, ease of wear, as well as appeal to women from 25 to 75+! The Ada Top (shown) is a great example - combining a shape that feels very fresh but also very wearable. The muddy olive green is lovely and pairs well with both black and with denim. (Two colors we know you have in your wardrobe!)
